Food allergies - how can this help you???

Allergies are very common in todays world, in Britain 1 in 4 people have an allergy and in the last 10 years it has got worse.

An allergy is caused when our immune system mistakes protein found in food as a threat to the body. It releases chemicals to fight an infection, and to stop it taking hold,, it is the chemicals that our body releases that causes the symptoms of an allergic reaction.
In children the food that commonly cause the allergic reaction:-

milk
eggs
tree nuts
nuts
shellfish
fish

The majority of children with allergies have a background of eczema in infancy.

In adults the common cause allergic reaction:-

apples, pears, kiwi and peaches
potato, carrot, celery and parsnip
crab, lobster and prawns
walnuts, pistachio, brazil nuts and almonds
peanuts
fish
\
The common symptoms of an allergy:-
tingling/itchy sensation inside the mouth, throat and ears
Raised itchy rash (known as urticaria, nettle rash or hives)
Swelling of the face, around the eyes, the roof of the mouth, lips, tongue (known as angioedema)

A food intolerance is not the same as and allergy. People with a food intolerance may have a digestive symptoms such as diarrhea, bloating, and sickness.

The important differences between food intolerance and an allergy:-

A symptoms only occur a few hours after food
You need to eat larger amount of food to trigger an intolerance rather than an allergy
Unlike an allergy, food intolerance is not life threatening

Oral allergy syndrome is a common type of food allergy in adults. Oral allergy syndrome is triggered by fresh fruit, vegetables and nuts, the symptoms of this is tingling, itching, swelling of the mouth, lips and throat.

Anaphylaxis is a very serious reaction to an allergy, if anyone has an anaphylaxis reaction then call an ambulance immediately.

I know of eight people who have allergies. My best friend is allergic to grass, pollen, trees, her cat, rats, and rabbit, but she loves animals so she has suffered most of her life with these allergies, her eyes swell, she coughs and sneezes, she has been known to come out in hives, all of which have had an awful effect on her, until she took

My sister-in-law has an intolerance to tomatoes, she had been suffering for months, every time she had tomatoes she became very sick and tired, she would have diarrhea, sickness, and felt very bloated she is so much better now that she has cut out eating them, and takes a few tablets in order to be able to go out and eat in restaurants as tomatoes are in so many foods.

What I have given the 2 people I have told you about is healthy starter pack vitamin b complex proactazyme pau_darco_lotion vitamin c alfalfa grapine nutri-calm these have been great products that have helped the people with the allergies. It is good to know that you are helping people deal with a horrible problem

Acne, blackheads, cysts how to help prevent them

Acne is the common cause of spots, it is more common in boys between 12 and 25. If untreated Acne can last for 4 to 5 years, if untreated acne can lead to scarring, if treated it can reduce or even disappear after a few months, but you will need to keep taking the treatment for a few years in order to stop the acne from returning.

Acne is more common in the face but can effect the neck, back and chest, it effects 9 out of 10 teenagers, this is due to the hormonal changes, small sebaceous glands lie under the skin which make oil (sebum) that keeps the skin smooth and supple, but due to the hormonal change teenagers make more sebum which makes the skin more greasy.

Some pores become blocked due to the top of the pores becoming thicker, combined with dead skin cells that are shed into the pores. you can see the plugs at the top of the pores as small spots (comedones) blackheads or whiteheads. The black of the blackheads are due to skin pigments not dirt as most people believe.

Sebum may collect under blocked pores which become pimples or papules, in mild cases of acne it shouldn't progress beyond the pimples, blackheads and whiteheads.

Trapped sebum is ideal for a bacterium called P. acne to live and multiply. Small numbers of the bacterium can live on the skin and cause no harm, but if a large number develop then it can effect the immune system which will cause inflammation and redness, this can lead to spots becoming large and can fill with pus (pustules). In some cases these pustules can lead to nodules or even cysts.

Each spot will heal eventually but can leave the skin discoloured for several months, there can also be a small scar left where the inflamed spot was.

In some rare cases some diseases in women and girls can cause acne, or make acne worse. Poly cystic ovary syndrome, or conditions that cause excessive male hormones in the ovary or adrenal gland. Another rare cause is chemicals in some workplaces (halogenated hydrocarbons).

There are certain make-ups, medications, anabolic steriods, which can make acne worse.

Indigestion - How to prevent it

Indigestion is a very common problem, it is estimated that over 40% of the population have experienced indigestion at some point in their lives.

Indigestion or dyspepsia (upset stomach) is pain or discomfort in the upper abdomen. Indigestion can come in various degrees of pain, the symptoms include:-

Feeling full or bloated after starting or finishing a meal,
Feeling nausea and evening vomiting after a meal,
Flatulence,
Loss of appetite,
Heartburn (some people can mistake this for a heart attack).
Burning in the epigastric area - part of the tummy under the breast bone.

The stomach produces acid to help the digestion of foods, the stomach is very sensitive to the acid so has a protective lining. On occasions the protective lining isn't adequate so the acid comes into contact with the cells lining the stomach leading to inflammation and irritation.

In most cases of indigestion it is caused by eating, but other causes can be due to medication that we take or an infection. Stomach lining inflammation can be caused by:-

Over indulgence in food or alcohol
Slumped posture whilst eating
Spicy or fatty food
Not eating food regularly enough
An infection
Disorders of the intestines, gallbladder or pancreas
The use of non-steroidal anti-inglammatories
Inflammation of the gullet (oesophagus)

The way to avoid indigestion:-

To stop smoking
Lose weight if you are overweight
Chew your food properly
Eat regularly
Don't rush eating
Try to avoid over-indulging in food and alcohol
Keep a diary to help find the cause of indigestion
Avoid stressful situations as this can affect the digestive system
Don't eat late at night
Take care when taking medicines that may cause indigestion
Don't drink to much coffee and carbonated drinks
Raise the head of the bed by 6-8 inches to help keep acid down
Avoid wearing tight clothing or tight belts

If the symptoms persist then seek your GP's advise, as it could be something a little more sinister

I have helped people with acid indigestion, they take proactazymepapaya_mint_chewablevitamin_c_1000mgaloe_vera_juicenutri-calm these are all great products, why not give them a try as I know they can help you.

Aging is a natural part of life.

Every second, every minute, every hour adds onto our lifetime, we are now living longer thanks to Scientist, Doctors and our families.

As a society we are becoming vein, we really don't want anyone to guess how old we are unless we can loose a few years. It makes us feel special, young, free and vibrant. To feel youthful is wonderful it makes us forget about getting old and looking to our futures (which we hope will be a quality of life that we all search for).

ADD or ADHD

There are 3 types of ADHD
ADHD combined (the most common type), which involves all of the symptoms
ADHD mainly inattentive (Previously known as ADD), which is marked by impaired attention and concentration
ADHD mainly hyperactive-impulsive, which is marked by hyperactivity without inattentiveness

ADHD stands for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, this is common in children and teenagers, but some adults can also have ADHD but there can be some variation in symptoms. An adult may experience restlessness instead of hyperactivity, and consistently have problems with interpersonal relationships and employment. ADD stands for attention deficit disorder.
Inattention may not become apparent until a child starts school, in adults inattention can manifest at work or in social situations.
For a diagnose your GP or a Teacher can refer your child to a specialist team for an assessment.  The National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has published guidelines on diagnosis and treatments for ADHD for the NHS.
A person with ADHD may have some or all of the following symptoms:
Difficulty paying attention to details and a tendency to make careless mistakes in school or other activities.
Easily distracted by irrelevant stimuli and frequently interrupting ongoing tasks
Inability to sustain attention on tasks or activities
Difficulty finishing schoolwork or paperwork or performing tasks that require concentration
Frequent shifts from one uncompleted activity to another
Procrastination
Dis-organised work habits
Forgetfulness in daily activities
Failure to complete tasks
Frequent shifts in conversation, not listening to others, not following details or rules of activities in social situations
Hyperactivity symptoms may be apparent in very young pre-school infants and are nearly always present before the age of 7.
Fidgeting, squirming when seated
Getting up frequently to walk or run around
Running or climbing excessively when it's inappropiate
Having difficulty playing quietly or engaging in quiet leisure activities
Always being on the go
Often talking excessively
A class of medication called central nervous system stimulants, is a highly effective treatment for children with ADHD. These treatments help 70% to 80% of children with focusing their thoughts and ignore distractions.
They are a class A drug and some experts are worried about the effects (Methylphenidate and dexamfetamine) and the damage to cardiovascular and nervous system. Methylphenidate's manufacturers state that the drug should only be given to children over the age of 6 and that it should be stopped after a while in order to check that it is working properly.
Another drug being used is atomoxetine this is also for children over 6 years old and has had some great effects on children with ADHD, but in 2005 the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency issued a public health advisory about rare reports of suicidal thinking in children and adolescents taking atomoxetine.
It really concerns me that children are given such horrible drugs. I have been in meetings with a few colleague's and we have looked at data from America and have now established a combination that works and  is 100% natural and won't damage the cardiovascular system or nervous system, or give awful suicidal thoughts.

Carbs. Eating 3 servings a day has been linked to lower blood cholesterol and reduce risk of heart disease

I have been going to the gym 2 to 3 times a week, I have seen my body shape improving but at the same time I have been getting heavier. I know it is because I am putting muscle on but it is really very disheartening so I have decided to join slimming world. I started Tuesday and since then I have been eating Jacket potato's  and pasta, this is everything that people tell you not to eat as they are carbs and carbs are bad for you, so I decided to do some digging regarding this and this is what I have found.

Doctors and dietitians are saying that eating carbs should be part of our healthy diet. Carbohydrates are whole grains, fruit and vegetables and carbs are also present in milk and dairy products.
Nutritionist Juliette Kellow says "Carbs are our friends" especially if we are dieting because they're less energy dense than fat. "If we chosse wholegrain or 'brown' ones which come packaged with fibre they help ius to feel full too. "However many carb-rich foods such as cakes, chocolate, crisps and biscuits also contain a lot of fat and therefore a lot of calories. (These foods I have to avoid)
"Processed carbs including sugary cereals and white bread, rice and pasta, are stripped of vitamins, minerals and fibre so are less satisfying than wholegrain varieties".

Whole grains contain all parts of the grain: the germ, endosperm and bran. When grains are milled or refined the germ and bran are extracted removing a large amount of nutrients and fibre.
That's why products made from these refined carbs are sometimes called "processed" carbs. Milling whole grains to make wholdgrain or wholemeal flour means none of the goodness of the grain is lost. They provide carbohydrates, fibre, protein, B Vitamins, minerals, plant-based antioxidant phytochemicals and are low in fat. Eating 3 servings a day has been linked with lower blood cholesterol and a reduced risk of heart disease.
A diet rich in whole grains can also reduce the chances of a strode, bowel cancer, asthma and gum disease and lower blodd pressure.

Glycaemic index or GI is a scale from 0-100 that measures the rate of digestion and the body's glycaemic or blood glucose response to foods.
GI is a good indicator of the foods to keep blood sugar levels stable . The GI of a food is affected by many things such as the types of fibre, fat and starch it contains and size of the particles. "Low-GI foods (under 55) are digested more slowly so our blood glucose rises accordingly and stays high for longer" say's Azmina Govindji from the British Dietetic Association. "This helps us to feel full and keeps ur mood and energy levels more stable"

Cooking with good grains:

Barley: A good source of fibre and selenuim, needed for a healthy immune system, it has a nutty flavour similar to brown rice. Add to soups.

Bulgur: Made from boiled, dried and cracked wholewheat dernels, this is a middle Eastern staple. Try it in salads and stuffings

Couscous: Soaked until fluffy then mixed with glavourings, this grain is a great alternative to pasta and rice. Try out the wholewheat variety which has more fibre and protein.

Millet: Gluten-free and with high levels of B vitamins and magnesium, millet is popular in Indian recipes such as pilafs. Use in baking or eat it as a cereal in puffed or flaked form.

Oats: The most popular whole grain and a good source of soluble fibre. Go beyond porridge and try oats in smoothies, bread and cakes.

Quinoa: A complete protein containing all 8 essential amino acids, it's also gluten-free, easy to digest and packed with dietary fibre, magnesium and iron. Use as an alternative to rice and in stuffings and salads.

Rye: Naturally lower in gluten than wheat, tye produces close-textured loaves. Try Scandinavian-style breads such as pumpernickel.

Spelt: Higher in protein than ordinary wheat, this ancient grain is also a good source of vitamin B2, needed to realease energy. Use it instead of rice in risottos or try it tossed into salads.

Pupula Duplex or double pupil...

Pupula Duples is latin for double pupil. It is thought that a person develops two irises, corneas and retinas on the same eyeball of each eye. It is extremely rare, some people believe this it is simply mythological but a few  people have been born with the condition and even historical figures were born with the condition.A chinese emperor Liu Ch'ung featured in Ripleys believe it or not. It is though this is the result of a genetic defect or mutation. It is not harmful to a persons general health. This condition has not been studied as it is very rare.
When light enters the eye it passes through the cornea. The cornea helps your eye to focus. The light approaches the other side of the cornea (aqueous humor) then passes through the pupil or the iris. The iris contracts or dialates depending on the amount of light. The light travels through the lens that is responsible for focusing the light. The focused light is then transported to the center of the eye called vitreous which is surrounded by the retina. The light is picked up by the photo receptors in the retina. Signals are sent from the photo receptors to the optic nerve where it is translated into electromagnetic signal, it is then sent to the visual center of the brain for processing.
A person who has pupula Duplex may be able to increase the volume of information that is taken when he sees, the focus may also be improved.
