Acne, blackheads, cysts how to help prevent them

Acne is the common cause of spots, it is more common in boys between 12 and 25. If untreated Acne can last for 4 to 5 years, if untreated acne can lead to scarring, if treated it can reduce or even disappear after a few months, but you will need to keep taking the treatment for a few years in order to stop the acne from returning.

Acne is more common in the face but can effect the neck, back and chest, it effects 9 out of 10 teenagers, this is due to the hormonal changes, small sebaceous glands lie under the skin which make oil (sebum) that keeps the skin smooth and supple, but due to the hormonal change teenagers make more sebum which makes the skin more greasy.

Some pores become blocked due to the top of the pores becoming thicker, combined with dead skin cells that are shed into the pores. you can see the plugs at the top of the pores as small spots (comedones) blackheads or whiteheads. The black of the blackheads are due to skin pigments not dirt as most people believe.

Sebum may collect under blocked pores which become pimples or papules, in mild cases of acne it shouldn't progress beyond the pimples, blackheads and whiteheads.

Trapped sebum is ideal for a bacterium called P. acne to live and multiply. Small numbers of the bacterium can live on the skin and cause no harm, but if a large number develop then it can effect the immune system which will cause inflammation and redness, this can lead to spots becoming large and can fill with pus (pustules). In some cases these pustules can lead to nodules or even cysts.

Each spot will heal eventually but can leave the skin discoloured for several months, there can also be a small scar left where the inflamed spot was.

In some rare cases some diseases in women and girls can cause acne, or make acne worse. Poly cystic ovary syndrome, or conditions that cause excessive male hormones in the ovary or adrenal gland. Another rare cause is chemicals in some workplaces (halogenated hydrocarbons).

There are certain make-ups, medications, anabolic steriods, which can make acne worse.

Indigestion - How to prevent it

Indigestion is a very common problem, it is estimated that over 40% of the population have experienced indigestion at some point in their lives.

Indigestion or dyspepsia (upset stomach) is pain or discomfort in the upper abdomen. Indigestion can come in various degrees of pain, the symptoms include:-

Feeling full or bloated after starting or finishing a meal,
Feeling nausea and evening vomiting after a meal,
Flatulence,
Loss of appetite,
Heartburn (some people can mistake this for a heart attack).
Burning in the epigastric area - part of the tummy under the breast bone.

The stomach produces acid to help the digestion of foods, the stomach is very sensitive to the acid so has a protective lining. On occasions the protective lining isn't adequate so the acid comes into contact with the cells lining the stomach leading to inflammation and irritation.

In most cases of indigestion it is caused by eating, but other causes can be due to medication that we take or an infection. Stomach lining inflammation can be caused by:-

Over indulgence in food or alcohol
Slumped posture whilst eating
Spicy or fatty food
Not eating food regularly enough
An infection
Disorders of the intestines, gallbladder or pancreas
The use of non-steroidal anti-inglammatories
Inflammation of the gullet (oesophagus)

The way to avoid indigestion:-

To stop smoking
Lose weight if you are overweight
Chew your food properly
Eat regularly
Don't rush eating
Try to avoid over-indulging in food and alcohol
Keep a diary to help find the cause of indigestion
Avoid stressful situations as this can affect the digestive system
Don't eat late at night
Take care when taking medicines that may cause indigestion
Don't drink to much coffee and carbonated drinks
Raise the head of the bed by 6-8 inches to help keep acid down
Avoid wearing tight clothing or tight belts

If the symptoms persist then seek your GP's advise, as it could be something a little more sinister

Would you like help to look younger????

Aging is a natural part of life.

Every second, every minute, every hour adds onto our lifetime, we are now living longer thanks to Scientist, Doctors and our families.

As a society we are becoming vein, we really don't want anyone to guess how old we are unless we can loose a few years. It makes us feel special, young, free and vibrant. To feel youthful is wonderful it makes us forget about getting old and looking to our futures (which we hope will be a quality of life that we all search for).

To make us look younger there are lots of different creams to hide wrinkles, aging spots, and tablets to help slow down aging.

I can recommend some excellent products that I myself take, not just to help reduce the aging process but also to keep the correct balance in my body. As always I ask you to take a free lifestyle analysis so that when you take any medication or supplements you know that your body is getting the nutrients it needs in order to process the supplement properly and that your body uses it correctly and you feel the benefit, its so easy and only takes a few minutes of your time.

ADD or ADHD

There are 3 types of ADHD
ADHD combined (the most common type), which involves all of the symptoms
ADHD mainly inattentive (Previously known as ADD), which is marked by impaired attention and concentration
ADHD mainly hyperactive-impulsive, which is marked by hyperactivity without inattentiveness

ADHD stands for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, this is common in children and teenagers, but some adults can also have ADHD but there can be some variation in symptoms. An adult may experience restlessness instead of hyperactivity, and consistently have problems with interpersonal relationships and employment. ADD stands for attention deficit disorder.
Inattention may not become apparent until a child starts school, in adults inattention can manifest at work or in social situations.
For a diagnose your GP or a Teacher can refer your child to a specialist team for an assessment.  The National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has published guidelines on diagnosis and treatments for ADHD for the NHS.
A person with ADHD may have some or all of the following symptoms:
Difficulty paying attention to details and a tendency to make careless mistakes in school or other activities.
Easily distracted by irrelevant stimuli and frequently interrupting ongoing tasks
Inability to sustain attention on tasks or activities
Difficulty finishing schoolwork or paperwork or performing tasks that require concentration
Frequent shifts from one uncompleted activity to another
Procrastination
Dis-organised work habits
Forgetfulness in daily activities
Failure to complete tasks
Frequent shifts in conversation, not listening to others, not following details or rules of activities in social situations
Hyperactivity symptoms may be apparent in very young pre-school infants and are nearly always present before the age of 7.
Fidgeting, squirming when seated
Getting up frequently to walk or run around
Running or climbing excessively when it's inappropiate
Having difficulty playing quietly or engaging in quiet leisure activities
Always being on the go
Often talking excessively
A class of medication called central nervous system stimulants, is a highly effective treatment for children with ADHD. These treatments help 70% to 80% of children with focusing their thoughts and ignore distractions.
They are a class A drug and some experts are worried about the effects (Methylphenidate and dexamfetamine) and the damage to cardiovascular and nervous system. Methylphenidate's manufacturers state that the drug should only be given to children over the age of 6 and that it should be stopped after a while in order to check that it is working properly.
Another drug being used is atomoxetine this is also for children over 6 years old and has had some great effects on children with ADHD, but in 2005 the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency issued a public health advisory about rare reports of suicidal thinking in children and adolescents taking atomoxetine.
It really concerns me that children are given such horrible drugs. I have been in meetings with a few colleague's and we have looked at data from America and have now established a combination that works and  is 100% natural and won't damage the cardiovascular system or nervous system, or give awful suicidal thoughts.
